Rec Hall's main floor--former head basketball coach
Bob Hamilton's classroom for 22 years--was named Hamilton Court Dec. 9,
dedicated at halftime of the Cal State Bakersfield game. Hamilton, who
saw all but two of his players graduate, succumbed to cancer two days
before the ceremony. Son-in-law Mitch Campbell (above, left), daughter Shana Campbell and Hamilton's wife, Marietta, joined Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef at the courtside tribute attended by some 2,200 fans--including a contingent of warmup-suited Yuba College basketball players.
Hamilton became Yuba's head coach after being reassigned to teaching duties at UC Davis at the end of the 1988-89 season. Trademark 'Ham' towels (left) were distributed at a pre-game memorial.
