Faculty, staff, students invited to book project meetings

The Campus Community Book Project coordinator announced two meetings of the planning committee for fall programs surrounding the 2008 book selection, Tracy Kidder's Mountains Beyond Mountains.

Faculty, students and staff are invited to attend, said Mikael Villalobos, project coordinator. Both meetings are scheduled from 12:10 to 1:30 p.m., the first on June 13 in 61 Mrak Hall and the second June 27 in the Memorial Union's Garrison Room.

The book covers such topics as geopolitics, Latin American studies, globalization, service learning, health care, ethical pricing of drugs, business and individual moral responsibility, inequality and human dignity.

Villalobos said the committee will meet throughout the summer to develop the fall programs, culminating with the author's visit on Dec. 1.
