UC hires finance, external relations execs

The UC Board of Regents on March 19 approved two appointments to the UC Office of the President. Peter J. Taylor was named executive vice president and chief financial officer of the UC system. Taylor, who most recently served at Barclays Capital as managing director of public finance, will begin his new job April 6 overseeing all aspects of financial management at the UC’s 10 campuses, medical centers and labs. He will make an annual salary of $400,000.

The regents also confirmed the hiring of Daniel M. Dooley as senior vice president for external relations. Dooley, who currently serves as vice president for agriculture and natural resources for the UC system, was asked last November to head the UC’s external relations operation. With his appointment to the external relations position, Dooley will continue to serve in both jobs for an indefinite term. He will make an annual salary of $370,000.
